We are now the 5 Jones!
Laurie Elizabeth was welcomed into this world on August 7, 2006, weighing in at 8 lbs 9 oz and 21.25 inches long. Wow, were we surprised to have such a big baby. Of course, at 39 weeks, this was the longest I had been pregnant. We had a little help inducing labor even though I was already 4 cm. Can you imagine how large she would have been when she decided on her own to make an appearance? We were very lucky to have an easy labor and delivery with Laurie making her appearance just before midnight.
Ashley & Daniel are very excited to have a new baby sister. They love to "help" with her and to talk and sing to her. So far, they haven't reacted too badly, just a little acting out from Ashley and a little clinging from Daniel. Since Laurie's been here, they have been kept busy, at church camp and with grandparents. Speaking of Grandparents, we have had an amazing amount of help and couldn't have made it these last 2 weeks without all four of them.
I am starting this blog as a temporary fix until we can get our new family website up and running. Hopefully it won't be too much longer, but as you can imagine, things are a little hectic right now. Gotta focus on important things like eating, sleeping and getting a shower. Well, two out of three every day isn't bad, right?
