At the store this weekend, I picked up some Special K Bars on sale hoping they would be good for breakfast. Ashley comes in to help me put away the groceries, sees the new bars and tells me, "Mommy this will make you lose weight." Huh? Like a stupid person, I asked her if Mommy needed to lose weight, to which she said "yes, a little". Ok. She then proceeds to say, "you eat K cereal if you need to lose weight. You eat it and you lose weight." I asked her where she heard that. The classic answer! On TV! Needless to say, we've had conversations today about commercials and their goals of making you think you need their product. I have a feeling this will be an ongoing lessons for many years.
