It's been 5 days since my "procedure" and how do I feel? Well, the throat swelling is gone, but my throat is still killing me. It feels like a bad sore throat when I swallow, so eating and drinking has gotten more difficult. Today was the first day since the day I had the procedure that I took pain meds. I haven't been sleeping well and Brian was home today, so I took one and slept the day away. When I woke up, I was more than a little jealous because he had all three kids out in the pool having a great time.
The question everyone is asking me is - has it helped at night yet? Brian would be quick to tell you that it has made everything worse for the time being. With my throat and soft palate such a mess, I'm not sleeping well, and when I do, I'm waking myself up with the noise. We have to wait until after the "wound" heals and then a few more weeks before we hear any results.
Oh, and if I could take a picture to show you, I would. My throat looks nasty. Directly above my uvuala, where it attaches, my palate has this great big white ulcear mess with some black stripes in it. Yuck. You don't want me to describe how it all tastes in my mouth. Really, you don't.
Even though it hurts more now than it did on Friday, there are a few up sides. I don't really sound funny anymore. People can understand me without asking if I'm sick or if something is wrong with me. And my throat feels mostly clear, not like before, where it felt like something was constantly sitting in the back of my throat.
Hopefully, only a few more days and I'll feel a little more normal.

I hope you're feeling better today. I'm excited for you on the idea that all of this horrible "discomfort" you're going through could really help you with the snoring issue. It's funny, I don't remember you snoring at all and we shared a bedroom for years and years. I guess though, you must not have been as loud as Dad - even all the way down the hall. (Grin)
