We had the pleasure this afternoon of taking a tour of our local firestation with a mom's group. The kids and I were very excited, as none of us, including me, had ever been in a fire station. The two firemen who gave us the tour were extremely nice and good with the kids, even Laurie Boo, who wasn't really interested in what they were talking about. Is it a bad thing when everyone tells you that your toddler has "lots of personality?" Yes, her unique personality is something we can talk about in another blog post - let's just say, she is very determined and not shy.
We learned lots of interesting facts about the truck, firestation and the job. I think the firemen were overwhelmed with all the goodies and drawings they received from the two tour groups (we had one group in the morning and our group in the afternoon). Lots of cookies and brownies for them to eat.
It was a really nice tour and a great group of guys. We are very thankful they are here for us if ever we need to call for firefighters.
